  • The instrument won't turn on:

    - if you insert the charger plug the instrument emits a short beep but the screen is off

    - sometimes detaching and reattaching the charger plug on the screen appear a series of darker horizontal thin stripes

    - the instrument was left on charge for several hours, but it didn’t turn on anyway

  • I made some measurements with the avg setting, is it possible to go back to the corresponding value in rms? A clarification: since the rms value is the mean square, is always higher than the avg, am I wrong?

the data downloaded on the PC through “ 8053 logger interface” software can then be saved in xls format. Then you can take all the individual measured values and calculate the rms average.

Warning! This is possible only if in the set-up storage the logger setting is "1sfix. You will have all the values stored every second. It cannot be done if the setting is 6min AVG – or 1 AVG 6 min - 6.

The RMS since is a squared value, is always a bit higher compared to AVG.

  • With ep 300 probe in plot mode I cannot see the measures scrolling on the screen

The visualization of "Plot" indicates the variation of the field according to the time. You can't export or save the "plot" if you want to see weak variations according to the field of time, you should set the "Logarithmic" subdivision(see page 3-25 of the manual) on the main menu "SET" and on the "BAR" line (see page 3-25 of manual)

  • The storage modalities of the measure of the instrument and the cancellation of the memory of the measure on the manual it’s not very clear to me . Especially the cancellation modality

The stored measures can be deleted only and exclusively from the instrument, overwriting above. Warning! overwriting a file implies the automatic cancellation of those in line!

  • I connected EHP-50C probe but the instrument doesn’t recognize it, on the screen appears: none probe. What should I do?

Verifying in the SET menu if the “Optical 232” interface is selected.

  • I didn't see EHP-50C probe’s manual, where can I find it?

It is in the 8053 manual ,in the second part.

  • Inside the box there are two optical cables apparently similar, one of them has a connector with a red protection, what is it for?

The one with the red caps allows the connection of the instrument and / or probe directly to the PC. It has two plugs of different termination, while you can use the one with the same plugs to connect the EHP-50-C probe (or other accessories) directly to the instrument

  • From what I could see as soon as the instrument turns on the measurement starts. There is no botton to press in order to start the measurement, is it correct? What have I got to do to stop the measurement?

As soon as the instrument is turned on , the measurement is activated, but not the recording. You can’t stop the measurement function.

  • In anticipation of high intensity magnetic field measurements in low frequency , what can I do to avoid equipment failure?

To measure low frequencies magnetic fields(50 Hz - 100 kHz) simply hold the probe in the field and remove the instrument using the appropriate fiber optical. The EHP50C probe may be subjected to 20 mT magnetic field intensity without any problem (overload at 50 Hz) If you want to measure fields generated by MRI, EHP50 probe is not suitable for such applications where the presence of static magnetic fields of several Tesla lead to make measurements with another instrument (THM 1176) appropriate and specific for static magnetic fields.

  • what should I do if I wanted to make the measurement of SAR

There are no user-friendly tools and affordable to calculate SAR quantities in the ICNIRP limits expressed in Dl81/08 table. Typically you use Electronic Tools (very advanced and expensive software) in order to calculate the energy specific absorption rate of mathematical human models.

  • What kind of calibration do i have to take into consideration (Standard / SIT) if want to make Dl 81 measurements ?

The standard calibrations supplied with the instrumentation for the measurement of electromagnetic fields are valid. The DL 81 does not mention the type of calibration to be done on the instrumentation. That is why our equipment is supplied with Standard calibration certificates

  • In the "DATA LOGGER" operation when it comes to the registration No. 47-48, the instrumentation doesn’t allow other recordings, despite indicating a remaining memory, about 43800k. Moving forward with the appropriate button always returns to the first Recording, but it doesn’t continue in a progressive manner as it used to.

This is not an anomaly but rather a redistribution of the memory inside of the new meter:8053-2004/40
It has in fact much more memory than previous models (8053, 8053A) that means 53K points with 1 s FIX logger mode spread over two blocks of memory:
A block of over 26 K points to carry out continuous CEM monitoring and a block distributable in max 47 recordings.
The 8053 that you bought in the past has only a single block of memory distributable in a given number of recordings, but on the whole much more limited (eg, 8 / 16 K total points)
The recordings can be 46 + 47 ,the last large memory capacity.
This means that the 47th can be continuous over time until memory exhaustion
